Chippewa Hills School District issued the following announcement on Jan 12.
Please see the attached flowcharts we will use for addressing positive covid cases and close contacts (exposures). These serve as our guide when addressing these matters knowing we may have to refer back to the actual MDHHS documents for specific questions of conditions. Please note that while the title of these is limited to students at this time, it is now applicable for use with staff as well.
In a nutshell, we are utilizing the 5 + 5 protocol for both positive cases and exposures. This means 5 days of isolation/quarantine followed by 5 days of masking. Unable or unwilling to mask, per MDHHS language, means a full 10 day isolation/quarantine. There is a caveat out for close contacts only on day 7 for testing to avoid masking days 8-10.
Students and staff will be contacted over the next day or two as this is retroactive and can impact current cases under isolation or quarantine. Please be patient as we adjust to these new guidelines. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to adjust to the ever-changing guidance.
