Curt VanderWall begins new term representing Michigan's 102nd District

State Representative Curt VanderWall, a Republican from Ludington, was sworn into office for another term today. The ceremony took place as Michigan's 103rd legislative term commenced. Supreme Court Justice Kyra Harris Bolden officiated the swearing-in, with VanderWall joined by his staffers Jordan Jorritsma and Nicholas Miller, along with his wife, Diane VanderWall.

VanderWall represents the 102nd District, which includes areas of Oceana, Manistee, Mason, and Muskegon counties. His political career began in November 2016 when he was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives. He served in the state Senate from 2018 to 2022 before returning to the House in 2023.

Before his tenure in the Michigan House, VanderWall held positions as commissioner and chairman for the Mason County Board of Commissioners. He also contributed to the Western Michigan Fair Association for six years and served as district chair for MSU Extension. Additionally, he participated on boards for the United Way of Mason County.
