Central Michigan University recently organized a mock interview program for its senior and graduate student-athletes. The event, held on March 19 at the Chippewa Champions Center, aimed to prepare participants for future job interviews by providing them with practical experience.
The program involved 32 student-athletes and an equal number of professionals, including alumni, donors, and representatives from local businesses. Each student-athlete participated in three interviews during the two-hour session, totaling 96 interviews conducted.
The format included 20-minute sessions where students engaged in 15 minutes of interviewing followed by five minutes of feedback. This setup was designed to mimic real-world interview scenarios and help students improve their skills.
CMU Student-Athlete L&D tweeted about the event: "Last week we also hosted Mock Interview Night for all senior student-athletes. This was an opportunity to gain more interview experience before graduating. Each student-athlete went through 3 interviews with various employers. Thank you to all of those who attended!"
Among the participating athletes were individuals from baseball, women's cross country/track & field, field hockey, men's golf, women's golf, lacrosse, soccer, and softball teams.
