NOTICE: Rehab of Old Powerhouse BldgThe City of Newaygo is looking to preserve and activate the old powerhouse building located on the Muskegon River at Riverfront Park (East) as a recreation venue. The structure is in need of improvements to make it safe for use. Anticipated improvements include: Replace the roof, ensure walking surfaces are safe and accessible to all, remove all building contents, doors, and windows, and clean interior. This will allow residents and visitors to use the space to gather, relax, and enjoy the outdoors and proximity to the river, or rest from hiking along the riverfront path.
The City welcomes any ideas or feedback regarding this project or the use of the space. You may submit your comments at City Hall at 28 State Rd, PO Box 308, Newaygo MI 49337 or on our website at: https://www.newaygocity.org/questions-comments.php
