'Survivorman' Les Stroud at the Library October 1

Survivorman Les Stroud will visit the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library Auditorium on Saturday, October 1 at 11 a.m. for a fun and informative author talk featuring his newest book for tweens and teens: Wild Outside: Around the World with Survivorman.” Stick around afterwards for a question-and-answer session with this world-renowned survivalist!

Les Stroud is best known as a Canadian Screen Award-winning producer, creator, director, and star of the hit TV series Survivorman (OLN Canada, The Science Channel US, Discovery Channel International, and City TV (Rogers) Canada, amongst numerous others around the world), but he is also a celebrated keynote speaker, musician, and author. Both of his books Survive! – Essential Skills and Tactics to Get You Out of Anywhere – Alive! (Harper Collins) and Will to Live (Harper Collins) have made the Globe and Mail Bestsellers list. Les was also nominated for Best Travel Writer at the Canadian National Magazine Awards and nominated for a 2011 White Pine Award for Will to Live for the Forest of Reading Awards by the Ontario Library Association. He currently pens hundreds of articles for Boy Scout Magazine and BC Outdoors amongst others.
