Reminder: At the general election on November 8. City of Evart voters will elect a mayor, two council members, and a city clerk. Voters will also have the opportunity to approve a charter change to appoint rather than elect the clerk. So far, Vanessa Jones, Jim Schwab and Shawn Pattee have qualified to run for city council. Chris Emerick is circulating petitions to run for mayor, and Sandy Szeliga and Travis Douglas are gathering signatures for the council race. No one has pulled petitions for the clerk's position. You may only sign TWO petitions for council. Any additional signatures will be discarded.
