St. Clair Shores Public Library issued the following announcement on Mar 18.
The Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum is happy to offer Pysanky egg decorating classes on March 26th and April 2nd from 1 – 4 p.m. for Easter.
Pysanky egg decorating is an Easter tradition amongst the Ukrainian and Polish cultures. Pysanky comes from the verb “to write” or “to inscribe” because the designs are written upon the egg using a stylus that allows you to draw in the decoration with beeswax.
This free class is open to residents of St. Clair Shores. Registration is required and seating is extremely limited. This class will include an egg to decorate, instruction, directions, and the use of decorating supplies. Please register after March 1st by calling the Library at 586-771-9020.
