Baldwin Community Schools issued the following announcement on Jan 19.
A message from David Forrester, Interim Superintendent of Baldwin Community School District.
Today the district was notified that a student at Baldwin Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. If you are contacted that your child was directly exposed to the person, you will receive instructions as to the appropriate measures to take. If you have not been notified that your child was in direct contact with an exposed person and needs to quarantine, your student can continue to attend school.
As members of the school community, we understand that this might raise concerns and questions about how this impacts your child and family.
We are working closely with District Health Department #10 to respond to this news and protect the health of our community.
We have taken immediate action:
- Deep cleaning of surfaces around the school
- Continued masking of all students and staff
- Class size limits and social distancing
We care deeply about the health and safety of our students and community. We require students and staff to be masked at school as this is an effective way to limit COVID-19 transmission.
