City of Evart issued the following announcement on Dec 2.
We continue to struggle with trash. One of the reasons council choose to switch to the bin system was the fact that so many residents continually exceeded the number of bags allowed weekly. We are having the same issue with the bins. If you cannot fit all of your trash inside the bin, you can get a second one for $12.00/month. You can also buy blue 30 gallon trash bags issued by Republic for $2.75/each. Bags are available at the Depot. These are the ONLY bags that Republic will pick up outside the bin. Recycling bins are available at no cost and will help you reduce what you send to the landfill in the bin.
The bottom line is that you cannot continue to pile trash above and around your bin. It won't be picked up and you WILL be expected to clean up the mess. We had trash blowing all over town before we converted to the bins, and for a while the town was much cleaner. It's been getting progressively worse lately and we ask everyone to help us stop this problem. Buy a second bin. Recycle. Think outside the box to reduce the amount of trash your family generates. Break down boxes. Smash cans.
Again, please stop piling trash on and around your bin. If you can't close the lid, you've overloaded it.
