Fremont Public School District issued the following announcement on Aug 31.
Parents and Students of Fremont Public Schools:
The Fremont Public Schools Nutrition Services Department is currently experiencing multiple issues in getting the food products listed on the district menus for our schools as well as many non-food items.
From chicken products to ketchup packets things have been very difficult to order and receive. The district would like you to be aware of the situation as we do our best to get the right products delivered, or in some cases, a substitute product purchased.
These are challenging times for the food industry across the country as well as right here in West Michigan. The Nutrition Services Department is committed to doing the best we can to provide healthy and nutritious meals for every student. That being said, the need to make last minute menu changes without notice or reduce the number of choices that we offer daily is a likely possibility. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated, and our hope is to have things back to normal as soon as possible.
Should you have questions or concerns, please contact me at 924-8160. Looking forward to a great year!
John Rosenberg
Director of Nutrition Services
