City of Detroit recently issued the following announcement.
Friday, September 3 is the LAST DAY for daily pickup in flood affected areas
Still have flood-damaged items and can't bring them to the curb before Friday? Call City of Detroit Department of Public Works at (313) 876-0004 or make the request through our Improve Detroit App to set up a special bulk item pickup. This does not apply to ordinary household bulk.
Starting Saturday, September 4th, residents must comply with normal pickup guidelines and enforcement of fees and fines will begin.
So far, more than 60 million pounds of bulk storm and flood-related debris has been removed from neighborhoods. "Our crews have been out for the last two months circulating through flood impacted areas on a daily basis,” said Superintendent of Solid Waste Doug Collins. “We want people to understand DPW is committed to keeping Detroit clean and we need everyone’s cooperation to make that happen.”
It takes us all to keep Detroit clean. Detroit Clean, Detroit Proud!
