City of Dearborn recently issued the following announcement.

Food trucks need city license, must meet other regulations

Food trucks can add a new dimension to meal choices as people observe social distancing to avoid the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

But owners of food trucks, and neighborhood groups that would engage them, need to know that a city license is required to operate in Dearborn. The fee is $100.

Other restrictions apply, and licenses are needed by the State of Michigan and the Wayne County Health Department.

Food trucks cannot set up on public residential streets in Dearborn, unless they are invited to do so by organizers of a block party approved by the City Clerk’s Office.

To set up in a park, food trucks would need permission from the Recreation Department.
