Central Michigan University is set to host its third consecutive Toilet Paper Toss game on January 25, when the men's basketball team faces off against Western Michigan at McGuirk Arena. The event will start at 7 p.m. ET.
Ticket prices for the game vary, with lower bowl reserved seating available for $30, upper bowl reserved seats for $22, and general admission bleacher tickets priced at $15. Groups of ten or more can purchase general admission bleacher tickets at a discounted rate of $8 each. Upper Club Lounge tickets are also available for $75 each, which includes dinner and access to a cash bar offering beer, wine, and soft drinks. Tickets can be purchased online through the university's website or by contacting Ticket Central.
Parking passes are available for purchase in advance for lots 62W and 62E at a cost of $10 each plus fees. These can be obtained online or through Ticket Central. Free parking will be offered in Lot 64.
Student tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis with an allocation of 1,200 tickets for the event. Students must claim their tickets through the Maroon & Gold Rewards prize store using points earned by engaging with CMU athletic events and activities.
The game has been designated as a "White Out," encouraging fans to wear white shirts. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the tradition of throwing toilet paper rolls onto the court before the game begins. Toilet paper rolls will be provided upon entry and recycled after use.
"We are extremely excited to bring this memorable event to our fans," stated Amy Folan, Central Michigan Zyzelewski Family Vice President/Director of Athletics. "This game has something for everyone."
The tradition dates back to the 1982-83 basketball season but was briefly discontinued before being revived in 1986 by CMU's athletic department. A notable photograph from a February 18, 1987 game captured by CMU photographer Peggy Brisbane was featured in People Magazine.
