Central Michigan University will host a combined gymnastics and wrestling event called Rumble & Tumble on January 17 at McGuirk Arena. The doubleheader features CMU's gymnastics team against Bowling Green and the wrestling team facing Northern Illinois, both Mid-American Conference rivals.
"We are so excited to bring back the Rumble and Tumble event," said CMU gymnastics coach Christine MacDonald. "We have competed at similar events in the past, and it is a truly unique and electric environment."
Tickets for the event are priced at $12, with free admission for children aged three and under. Groups of ten or more can purchase tickets at $7 each. All seating will be general admission in the upper bowl, while CMU students can attend for free with their student ID.
CMU's gymnastics and wrestling teams have collectively won 59 MAC team championships since 1986. Wrestling coach Ben Bennett highlighted the dual nature of the event: "It's an exciting event because you get to see both sports," he stated. "It's also our MAC opener and the MAC opener for gymnastics."
The ticketing department will inform season ticket holders about seating arrangements closer to the date.
