Parking options announced for CMU events during graduation weekend

Central Michigan University (CMU) Athletics has detailed parking arrangements for the upcoming weekend's events on campus, scheduled from Friday, May 3 to Saturday, May 4. The events coincide with the university's commencement ceremonies at McGuirk Arena in the Kulhavi Events Center. Attendees are advised to anticipate heavy traffic around the athletic complex and throughout Mount Pleasant.

For those attending the 2024 Mid-American Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament, parking will be available in Lots 63 and 64. These lots are situated near Kelly/Shorts Stadium and the CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex. The tournament begins with semifinal games on Thursday, featuring Central Michigan against Detroit Mercy at 1 p.m., followed by Robert Morris versus Eastern Michigan at 4 p.m. The championship game is set for Saturday at noon, with free admission for all matches.

Baseball fans attending CMU's series against Akron at Theunissen Stadium should park in Lot 70, located north of the stadium. Games are scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at noon. Additional parking will be available on the grass area beyond the left-field wall.

For Saturday's softball doubleheader between CMU and Ball State starting at 1 p.m., parking will be accessible in Lots 63, 64, and Lot 75. On Sunday, attendees of the Senior Day game can park in Lot 61.

The graduation schedule includes ceremonies for various colleges within CMU. On Friday, May 3, the College of Medicine ceremony is set for 10 a.m., followed by doctoral degrees and other graduate-level ceremonies at 3 p.m. On Saturday, May 4, undergraduate ceremonies begin with the College of Business Administration at 9 a.m., continuing with other colleges throughout the day.
