CMU hosts special graduation for student-athletes amid competition weekend

Central Michigan University (CMU) hosted a special graduation ceremony for its spring student-athletes who were unable to attend the main commencement due to competition schedules. The event took place at the Chippewa Champions Center Atrium on Sunday morning, where 29 graduates received their degrees. The group included 11 baseball players, nine lacrosse players, and nine softball players.

The ceremony was attended by Central Michigan President Bob Davies and Zyzelewski Family Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan, who presented the degrees to the graduating athletes.

All three teams—baseball, lacrosse, and softball—were involved in competitions over the weekend in Mount Pleasant.

Graduates included Jozy Allen from Lacrosse with a degree in General Business Administration: Applied Business Communication; Jake Brill from Baseball majoring in Entrepreneurship with a minor in Marketing; Caitlyn Britton from Softball specializing in Neuroscience MJ: Clinical Health NSC Conc. with a minor in Substance Abuse Education: Prevention; among others.
