Central Michigan University (CMU) is set to celebrate the graduation of its 2024 class this weekend, with 79 student-athletes among those receiving their diplomas. The commencement ceremonies will take place on Friday and Saturday.
The university marked the occasion with a Student-Athlete Graduation Celebration at the Chippewa Champions Center. CMU President Bob Davies and Zyzelewski Family Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan addressed the graduates during the event.
"This group is truly remarkable in how they have represented Central Michigan Athletics, both in the classroom, and in the community," said Folan. "They have overcome tremendous challenges in the past four years in how they navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. We couldn't be prouder of a group."
Among these student-athletes, 35 graduated with honors: 13 Summa Cum Laude, 11 Magna Cum Laude, and 11 Cum Laude. This represents 44 percent of all graduating student-athletes achieving honors status.
