Central Michigan University is preparing for a significant milestone as it celebrates its 100th Homecoming Weekend. The event will take place from October 10 to October 13, featuring a range of activities for alumni, friends, and family members.
The highlight of the weekend is the annual Homecoming Football game, scheduled for Saturday, October 12 at 4 p.m. Central Michigan will face Ohio at Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Tickets are still available for those interested in attending. For those unable to make it to Mount Pleasant, the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
A special tribute will be made to Central Michigan's 1974 national champion football team, which has been named the Grand Marshals for this year's Homecoming. This marks the 50th anniversary of their NCAA Division II national championship victory. "Homecoming weekend is a celebratory event for our great university and athletics program," said Amy Folan, Zyzelewski Family Director of Athletics.
In addition to football, other CMU sports teams will also compete during the weekend. The women's soccer team hosts Ball State on Thursday evening and field hockey matches against Ball State and Michigan State are set for Friday and Sunday respectively.
Central Michigan University has organized numerous events throughout the weekend to engage alumni and fans. Activities include various open houses, tailgates, parades, mixers, and receptions aimed at bringing together different community groups.
The full schedule of events can be accessed through Central Michigan University's official website or by contacting their office directly.
