Another year has started strong for Central Michigan University (CMU), building on the momentum of last year. The 2023-24 Annual Report, which highlights athletic and academic success, community partnerships, and student-athlete engagement, has been released.

A major highlight this fall is CMU's 100th annual homecoming, scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 10 through 13. The Athletics family is particularly excited about the 1974 football team serving as homecoming grand marshals. This team, which won the Division II national championship under legendary coach Roy Kramer and his top assistant Herb Deromedi, will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The CMU Chippewas will face off against the Ohio Bobcats in their homecoming football game on Saturday afternoon. Other sports events during the weekend include soccer, field hockey, and fall softball games. Details can be found on the Alumni Relations website.

On Friday, Sept. 20, five athletes and one former coach were inducted into the Marcy Weston Hall of Fame at a ceremony in McGuirk Arena. The inductees are:

- Chad Pleiness (basketball and baseball player)

- Eric Fisher (football player)

- Sarah Dame (gymnast)

- Ryan Watson (track and field distance runner)

- Kaitlyn Schultz (volleyball player)

- Tom Borelli (wrestling coach)

While celebrating history through these events, CMU continues to focus on future goals with its Maroon & Gold Bold campaign. This initiative aims to enhance the fan experience and elevate CMU within its conference.

For those interested in supporting these efforts, Chris Walker, deputy director of athletics, or Kelly Berryhill, associate athletic director for development can be contacted at 989-774-1931.

Thanks are extended to those who contribute their time and resources to support student-athletes' success both on and off the court.
