Central Michigan announces promotional themes for six home football games in 2024

Central Michigan Athletics announced its annual promotions schedule for its 2024 home football games on Monday. Each game has a promotional theme, and CMU's full schedule is posted online.

Central Michigan's 2024 home football schedule features six games at Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Four of those games are scheduled before mid-October, with the last two being MACtion mid-week games.

Here is a look at the promotional themes for each game:

**Thursday, Aug. 29, vs. Central Connecticut State, 7 p.m.**

2024 Kick-Off at Kelly/Shorts

A pep rally will take place at Kelly/Shorts Stadium from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday night prior to Central Michigan's season opener on Thursday against Central Connecticut State. First-year CMU students will be invited to form a tunnel at the team entrance. On game day, rally towels will be passed out to the first 2,000 fans; CMU football stickers and "Beat Central Connecticut" buttons will also be distributed.

**Saturday, Sept. 21, vs. Ball State, Time: TBA**

Hall of Fame Day/Champions Day/Educator Appreciation Day

As Central Michigan's Mid-American Conference opener, the Chippewas will host Hall of Fame Day, Champions Day, and Educator Appreciation Day. The Saginaw Indian Tribe will perform a pre-game tribal drum ceremony; all 2023-24 MAC Championship teams and individuals will be introduced; and 2024 CMU Athletic Hall of Fame inductees will be announced at halftime. Flag officers will also be recognized. As part of Educator Appreciation Day and CFP Extra Yard for Teachers Week, CMU will offer discounted tickets for teachers and professors. "Beat Ball State" buttons will be distributed at the doors. On Friday evening, CMU Athletics will host its prestigious 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees in a ceremony at McGuirk Arena (6 p.m., free admission). The inductees will be honored on the field during the football game.

**Saturday, Sept. 28, San Diego State, Time: TBA**

CMU & You Day/Family & Friends Weekend/Band Day

CMU & You Day will take place on the Central Michigan University campus with participants and their families invited to attend the football game. CMU students are encouraged to invite their families to campus for Family & Friends Weekend organized by Family Central where they can take advantage of a special ticket bundle—a $25 Family & Friends bundle that includes a general admission ticket and food voucher for hot dog, popcorn, and drink. The CMU School of Music will also present its 70th annual Band Day halftime performance featuring high school bands from across Michigan. Various awards including two prestigious CMU Athletics awards—the Boyden and Enberg Awards—along with National Alumni Awards & Alumni Association’s "10 Within 10" award and halftime Family of the Year recognition will be announced during the game. Pompoms and "Beat San Diego State" buttons will be distributed at the doors.

**Saturday, Oct. 12, vs. Ohio, Time: TBA**

2024 Homecoming Game

In a yearly tradition which began on Nov. 22, 1924, Central Michigan will celebrate the centennial anniversary of its first Homecoming Game by recognizing the 50th anniversary of its national championship-winning team from 1974 as Homecoming Grand Marshals along with other historical milestones such as anniversaries for MAC Championships (15 years and 45 years). Door giveaways include koozies and "Beat Ohio" buttons.

**Tuesday Nov.,5 vs Bowling Green,,7:30 p.m or8p.m**

Military Appreciation Night

The Chippewas host Bowling Green for their first MACtion game on Election Day with Military Appreciation Night offering discounted tickets ($10) for active-duty military personnel and veterans with valid ID cards available along with blue LED light sticks while supplies last plus “Beat BGSU” buttons handed out throughout venues acknowledging letter winners among student-athletes too..

**Tuesday Nov19vs Western Michgan ,7pm ,730 pm or8 pm SeniorNight /Battle Victory Cannon Trophy**

Senior Night marks final regular season match-up hosting rivals WMUsenior class athletes get recognized pregame cheerleading/dance squad seniors honored equally ; commemorative “beat western” badges given away…

Each game includes Kids Zone (bounce houses yard activities face painting coloring stations), Fan Central (sport posters/giveaways), Student Central(east concourse area exclusively).
