Marion Public Schools Education: 419 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 419 students enrolled in Marion Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.2% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.3% of them were boys, and 47.7% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 94.0% of the Marion Public Schools total enrollment.

Marion Public Schools covers two schools within Osceola County with its main office in Marion. Among them, Marion High School recorded the highest enrollment of 235 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
