What did the political committee based in City associated with Mason County spend during Q1 2021?

Curt Vanderwall for State Senate spent the most out of all the political committees based in a city associated with Mason County during the first quarter of 2021, according to the Michigan Department of State.

The committee paid $9,508 to four vendors.

The largest expense was $3,000 paid to Ludington-based Curt Vanderwall for loan repayment.

What’s known as “dark money,” which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan accounted for the largest expenditures among the state candidates, surpassing $33 million in total.
