The Cultural Committee is hosting a bus tour to the Detroit Institute of Arts on Thursday, Oct 13th from 12:30-3:30, to see the exhibit "Van Gogh in America." Van Gogh in America celebrates the DIA's status as the first public museum in the United States to purchase a painting by Vincent van Gogh, his Self-Portrait from 1887. On the 100th anniversary of its acquisition, experience around 70 Van Gogh works from around the world and discover the fascinating story of America's introduction to this iconic artist, in an exhibition only at the DIA.
The tour and the exhibit entry cost is $12 per
person, including bus transportation from the Library to the DIA and back. Tickets can be purchased at the Library from September 6 through September 27. This tour is limited to 42 people.
