American Principles Project PAC (APP PAC) President Terry Schilling recently announced that the organization will be playing a vital role in campaigning for Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District by seeking the defeat of Republican Rep. Peter Meijer, whom Schilling calls a "a sell-out Republican."
APP PAC is an independent political action committee which seeks to defend the family in politics. A press release by the organization states that "American Principles Project PAC launched a digital ad campaign last week in Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District, in an effort to defeat Republican Rep. Peter Meijer in next month’s GOP primary," according to The Iowa Standard.
“Rep. Peter Meijer is the perfect example of a sell-out Republican,” Schilling said in statement, according to the press release. “While many in the GOP have rightly begun to push back against the woke Left’s attempts to erase women and sexualize children, Meijer would prefer to throw up the white flag and allow families to be steamrolled by the transgender agenda. This is simply not acceptable for a Republican candidate.”
Schilling said over the next few weeks, the APP PAC will make sure families in Meijer’s district know exactly where he stands — or, rather, refuses to stand.
“Republicans must recognize that there will be political consequences for abandoning families. If ‘leaders’ like Rep. Meijer won’t defend us from the woke Left, they can expect the Big Family to come after them,” Schilling said.
"During a time when many GOP leaders are actively seeking to protect women's sports and private spaces, APP's campaign informs voters about Meijer’s co-sponsorship of the Fairness for All Act, legislation which would endanger both concepts," according to the press release.
APP PAC is said to be running additional ads supporting Meijer’s primary challenger John Gibbs, a signer of the Big Family Pledge which aims to defend women’s sports and protect children from potentially harmful sex change procedures, among other things.
The primary for the 3rd Congressional District of Michigan will occur on Aug. 2, according to Ballotpedia.
