City of Evart recently issued the following announcement.
Heads up! We just had a call to a city cell phone from someone that identified themselves as being with Consumers Energy. They warned that our "power will be turned off in the next 30-45 minutes unless we punch "1" and make arrangements for payment." The city is certainly up to date on our utility bill, and this is a SCAM.
If you get one of these calls, do not punch 1. Hang up.
