MONTAGUE SALUTES SPONSORS OF VETERAN’S GRAVE MARKER PROJECT

City of Montague issued the following announcement on Sept 21.

MONTAGUE SALUTES SPONSORS OF VETERAN’S GRAVE MARKER PROJECT--Project co-chairs, Councilwoman Lisa Kiel and Councilman Bruce Froelich presented Certificates of Appreciation to Sponsors following the Monday night Council Meeting. Sponsors include:  Double L Enterprises (Kyle & Jeff Lohman); Lakeshore Chrysler Jeep Dodge (Tony Patitucci); Ken & K.P. Mahoney; Kelly & Jeff Markley; Susan Newhof; North Grove Brewers (RJ Nordlund & Jason Jaekel); Paul Potter; Jim & Lois Rose; Steve Salter; St. James Catholic Church (Father Peter Omogo); Seaver’s Lawn Service (Jack Seaver); The Todd Family (Tim & Grace Todd and Family); Weesies Brothers Farms, Inc. (Mark Weesies); Whitehall Products LLC; Claude Babcock; Brenda & David Bean; Guinon Appraisal (Mike Guinon); Steve & Abby Lohman; Roger Scharmer; White Lake Flooring (Rex Lloyd); Dennis & Veronica Flynn; Bruce Froelich; Lisa Kiel; Tom & Cheryl Lohman; and, Jeri Wonders.

In addition, the co-chairs thanked the Cemetery Sexton, Steve Lohman, and his volunteers, Claude Babcock and Ken Mahoney, for their help in preparing the gravesites for the new markers that were placed by Veterans organizations in time for the Memorial Day Observation.

The City is aiming to purchase an additional 50 grave markers to have on hand as replacements. To make contributions to the Veteran’s Grave Marker Project, send a check payable to the “City of Montague,” 8778 Ferry Street, Montague, MI 49437. Please indicate on the Memo line: Veteran’s Grave Marker.  If folks have questions, please call (231) 332-6755 to speak with the City Clerk, K.P. Mahoney.
