After the Michigan Supreme Court recently ruled in a 4-3 vote that the 1945 law, under which Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been issuing her executive orders, is unconstitutional, Rep. Jason Wentworth (R-Farwell) joined fellow legislators in hailing the decision.

While there are still a lot of questions regarding how Michigan moves forward to ensure the safety and best interests of residents, Wentworth posted on his Facebook page that the decision was a victory for constitutional rights.

“The court got this ruling right,” Wentworth said in his post. “This is an important victory for our constitutional rights. The people of Michigan have been denied a voice and a seat at the table for months as the governor has made unilateral decisions about the way our state responds to COVID-19. "

Wentworth invited his constituents to send him any questions they may have at JasonWentworth@house.mi.gov.
