81 percent of applicants to Ferris State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Ferris State University, 79 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 53 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Big Rapids enrolled 13,250 students in fall 2018, including 11,896 in undergraduate and 1,354 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 6 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (78 percent) and Black or African American (8 percent).

The school admitted 81 percent of the 10,284 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 23 percent enrolled.
