Sen. Curt VanderWall (R-Ludington) is confident in Michigan’s ability to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The challenges ahead of us are significant, but there is no need to panic; we know what we need to do,” VanderWall said in an op-ed published on MiSenateGOP. “As we follow medical experts’ recommendations and look out for one another, we will overcome this crisis.”

VanderWall advised his constituents that staying home is one of the most important practices they can follow to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. Other precautionary measures include individuals maintaining a distance of 6 feet from one another when they are out in public and washing their hands frequently.

In terms of legislation, two bills have passed that provide the state with $150 million in COVID-19 funding. This includes money for the Coronavirus Response Fund, the expansion of health care capacity, critical payments to hospitals and doctors, laboratory testing and infection control.
