Just Mercy" is a powerful and thought-provoking recently released movie based on the book by the same name written by Bryan Stevenson. The subtitle of this book is "A Story of Justice and Redemption." Woven throughout the story are religious and spiritual themes.
Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church is hosting a four-week discussion group convened by the Rev. Timm High at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church, 5501 Jefferson Ave. This is an interdenominational, faith-based look at this story. All are welcome.
Stevenson is the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice dedicated to defending the poor, the wrongly condemned, and those trapped in the furthest reaches of our criminal justice system.
