Who is The Everyday Hero That Brings Out The Optimism in You?

Congratulations to Anika Pai for winning second place in the Mecosta County Optimist Club essay contest!  The topic of her essay was, “Who is the everyday hero that brings out the optimism in you?”  Anika chose to write about her teacher, Mrs. Melissa Scheible.

You can read Anika’s amazing essay here.

Anika is a fourth-grade student in Mrs. Scheible’s class at Riverview Elementary.  She was awarded on Tuesday night with her family, her teacher, and her school principal, Ms. Renee Kent, in attendance.

Big Rapids Public Schools board member, Michelle Rasmussen, shared, “I am so proud of Melissa and Anika, and the environment Ms. Kent (Principal at Riverview Elementary) encourages at Riverview.  The impact Melissa has had on Anika will last a lifetime.  It is truly a testament to why BRPS is an amazing place for our students, and our teachers are second to none.”

We are so proud of Anika for her accomplishment and honored that she is a Cardinal!
